“I’ve always based my production on my feelings and on my current situation” – Mathias Treinen drops a new EP on Lauter Unfug
Luxembourgish producer Mathias Treinen is back on Lauter Unfug by delivering another quality release with two super unique tracks: “Polygone”. On remix duty, DJ Graziano Raffa, who already released on great labels like Sud Beat and Click Records, remixes Polygone adding weight and more dynamic pattern to the beat.
trndmsk: What inspired you to produce the EP?
Mathias Treinen: I’ve always based my production on my feelings and on my current situation. The track ‘Polygone’ was a project I’ve been working on for at least one year and is one of my very first ideas that marked the development of my productions. ‘Polar’ is a song I created with two friends a Anne Funk at the mic and Tristan Vaisière at the guitar and we put a lot of time and effort in our creation and it began with me and Tristan trying to make a simple beat until we realised that our track had much more potential and needed a voice. Finally the re-work of ‘Polar’ was my own version in which i put a different vibe and feeling that was matching my current mood.
How did you choose the title of the EP? Is there a special meaning behind it?
I thought ‘Polygone’ would be a good sounding name for the main track because it has many different characters and a polygone is a shape with many different corners with different angles and so are the songs I created in my opinion.
Where did you record it? And how?
I made the EP in my bedroom where my little studio is using ableton live, a midi keyboard an some external plugins and of course my most important tool was my instincts and the drive of my work flow.
How did you get in contact with the record label?
I am myself a member of the Lauter-unfug crew and also active in the label management and it all began with them booking me for some parties 2 years ago.
How was the feedback so far?
I’ve had a lot of people contacting me saying that they love my EP and a lot of people also shared my music and listen to it I was very surprised that their is a tiny hype.
What’s up next after the release? Are you working on any other projects?
For the moment I’m trying to make a new EP in a different genre more housy perhaps but nothing is certain.
