„It took a lot of courage for him to befriend me in front of Hitler. You can melt down all the medals and cups I have and they wouldn’t be a plating on the 24-karat friendship I felt for Luz Long at that moment. Hitler must have gone crazy watching us embrace. The sad part of the story is I never saw Long again. He was killed in World War II.“

This quote by four-time Olympic gold medalist James Cleveland “Jesse” Owens on Luz Long, a German athlete who was the first one to congratulate Owens on his 1936 gold medal in long jump, reflects our appreciation of friendship. To Luz Long, Jesse Owens’ dark-skinned race did not matter. Neither did Hitler’s intimidation and the Third Reich’s sentiments. He was simply impressed by Owens and paid tribute to his extraordinary performance. This is exactly the spirit that we want to display on the page “Friends”. We would like to perpetuate the names of all the DJs, clubs, event managers, labels and anybody else who supported us in any way. You are amazing and we thank you very deeply!
