T.M.A founded a new record label named The Modern Age. Their next release will be released on their new imprint. We talked with the guys about „Electric Lady“ and what’s the different to their first label, Lukins.

The Modern Age will release „Electric Lady“ on 12th of April, 2019.

trndmsk: How are you? What’s going on in Eberswalde?

T.M.A: Hey hey, nice to be back on trndmsk! We’re great. Summer is coming and we can’t wait to spend some days at the lake with some friends close to our studio. Next to that a lot of promising projects with our platform Lukins and The Modern Age are in the making. Really excited.

You guys founded a new label called The Modern Age. What’s the different to Lukins?

Two years ago we both moved back to our hometown Eberswalde. Since then we have kind of collective with Idaam and Apart. Out of this crew we founded Lukins for events and electronica music. Lukins is more about art and projects beyond club music and club culture. Actually that was the reason to launch The Modern Age – to have a platform for our more clubby T.M.A style.

With „Electric Lady“, it’s the third track within three month. Can we expect a new T.M.A track every month?

Yes, that’s the idea. We’re not sure if we do it like this our entire life, but for now it’s our vision.
The good thing is, that we can release our stuff very fast. You finish a track and around six weeks later it’s out on all platform. We’re very grateful to have this opportunity – to pursue our own vision without any restrictions.

Where did you record it? And how?

Electric Lady and all other tracks on The Modern Age were produced at our studio in Eberswalde. We really enjoying living on the countryside. A lot of lakes, forest, family & friends. Everything in front of the metropolis of Berlin. This combination inspires us a lot.

What’s up next after the release? Are you working on any other projects?

At the moment we’re focusing on The Modern Age. I guess we’ll put all tracks on a compilation at the end of the year combined with remixes from our friends. Besides our label, we’re working on a new release on Audiojack’s Gruuv recordings, some remixes are in the pipeline for our friends Stereo.type on Get Physical Music and Apart, and we’ve started a little collaboration with MIDAS 104. Sound like it’s a lot to do, but we love making music and spending time in the studio – simple as that.
