Hypnotic, delicate and melancholy – Several Definitions releases his EP “Oppression” on Récits de Mars

Several Definitions releases his new EP on Récits de Mars. The collection includes remixes by Alberth and 1979.

trndmsk: What inspired you to produce the EP?

Several Definitions: With this EP, I wanted to create a melodic vibe that could be easily played in a club. I wanted something hypnotic, delicate and melancholy. I imagined myself in the middle of a dancelfoor and I was thinking about what I wanted to hear. Something that drives me.

Where did you record it? And how?

I created almost all the EP in my studio. I especially created Oppresion and Collapsar at night. I really wanted to find a clean energy in this period. Part of Quantique was worked on the mountain. I spent a few days there and wanted to feel a sense of lightness when listening. Throughout the EP, we can find some hardware synths and some VST.

How does Alberth’s remix affect you?

The remix that Alberth did is just perfect. He managed to give the Original, a side a little darker and really energetic! He managed to rework the hook with his touch, it’s really great! When you play this song in a club, the atmosphere is really crazy!

What’s up next after the release? Are you working on any other projects?

After this EP, I’m going to have an release on Anathema. Later, I’ll come back with a great EP on Parquet Recording. I did a remix for them that will be released soon too. Currently, I am working on my second album which will certainly be released on my label, Récits de Mars. It will be less club and tracks will have rhythms between 60 and 130 bpm. I really enjoy getting to the end because this second album will be a real evolution compared to the first, on Stil Vor Talent.
