Deisen: “I often look for inspiration in songs that were meaningful to me in my youth”
The latest edition of our free download series finds Deisen for his first appearance. The producer edited the song “Fanpost”.
trndmsk: What inspired you to produce the track?
Deisen: Whenever I feel the notoriously dreaded writer’s block creeping in, I often look for inspiration in songs that were meaningful to me in my youth, and are also totally outside of the electronic genre. I’ve always been a fan of Clueso, and this is my way to send my own “Fanpost” (fan mail) his way.
Where did you record it? And how?
I’m lucky enough to have my studio right in the basement of my apartment in Brooklyn, where this track was created. The lyrics translate to: “The sun just doesn’t want to go down”, so I wanted to have a shiny bright synth at the center of the track that keeps rising and rising.
Why do you want to provide it as a free download?
I’ve been playing the track at parties and around my friends, and people seem to enjoy it, so why not share it with everybody.
What’s up next after the release? Are you working on any other projects?
I have a few tracks on different compilations coming out in the near future. After that, I want to take the winter time to lock myself in the studio and work on my next EP, as well as my first live set.
